The 34th annual Bayfront Blues Festival is happening all weekend in Duluth.
Every year, hundreds of thousands of blues fans come down to enjoy a weekend full of music from artists across the country and even world.
This year, there is a group that came from across the globe. The Blues Beatles travelled to Duluth all the way from Brazil. Not only do the artists come from all over, so do the fans.
Today, we spoke with people from Canada, California, Iowa, who all came to see this years show.
Emcee for the event, Joe Thorton, says that the artists who come here create memories for themselves as well as the audience. “You can’t beat the boats going by with the lake in the back.”
Two women who have been attending the festival for over thirty years agree with that. They told us the atmosphere, tradition, and longtime friendships that have been made through the Blues Fest is what keeps them coming back every year.
The festival will run regardless of rain or shine. Thorton mentions the patience of fans as weather conditions may worsen over the weekend. He says the fans wait because it’s worth it.
The Blues Festival runs though Sunday and tickets will be sold at the door. For more information on acts, times etc. visit the Bayfront Blues Festival website.
