The City of Aurora expanding manufacturing opportunities for future businesses on the Iron Range

New land developments up on the East Iron Range area in the City of Aurora broke ground on construction Thursday July 25. The Iron Range Resources and Rehabilitation Board started planning this industrial park project in December of last year.

Iron Range Resources and Rehabilitation Commissioner Ida Rukavina told us they are looking at potential manufacturing companies that can provide employment and economic growth to the City of Aurora and surrounding areas.

“It doesn’t just help Aurora. You’ve got neighboring communities like Biwabik, Point Lakes and Embarrass,” said Commissioner Ida Rukavina at Iron Range Resources and Rehabilitation. “People up on the range live in one town, work in another, drive here, drive there. This is helping Aurora, but it also really helps the whole entire Iron Range and we’re really excited about the opportunities that this is going to bring.”

Mayor Doug Greggor of Aurora told us the City of Aurora could really benefit from this project from an economic standpoint, and potentially drive more people to the East Rang area.
