The Minnesota State Film office asks us to explore
The Minnesota State Film office held their Explore MN Film Town Hall meeting to showcase new programs for 2025 on Wednesday January 8th.
The meeting covered new guidelines for the Film Production Tax Credit which aims to bring big budget movie productions right here to Minnesota.
The meeting also covered ways that the office will be marketing Minnesota as a film location to out of state film producers.
One new way the office will be showing off Minnesota as a filming location is through SetJetters, an app to find famous film locations.
“People are coming because they are fans of movies that were shot in Minnesota,” said Sarah Gebeke the Film & TV Production Liaison at the Minnesota State Film office. “Some people are huge fans that will fly in and want to go to every location possible. But it’s also for our local residents who get excited to learn about what has been filmed here.”
30 Minnesota film locations will be available on the app.
