The #5 UMD Women’s Hockey team will have their home opener this weekend, hosting the University of St. Thomas Tommies on Friday and Saturday. Game time is 3:00 p.m. on Friday with puck drop on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.

On Saturday, Bulldog fans will get to see the PWHL’s Walter Cup. Three former Bulldogs play for the champion Minnesota Frost will bring the Walter Cup to AMSOIL Arena for fans to take a picture with. According to UMD, former UMD captain Sydney Brodt, olympian Maddie Rooney and Maggie Flaherty will be on hand to show off their new hardware.

UMD has spent five weeks on the road. The Bulldogs were originally scheduled to play Syracuse University on September 28-29 as their home opener, but that series was rescheduled for the first week of January because of Hurricane Helene.
