Three arrested in Itasca County meth bust

On Thursday, the Aitkin-Itasca-Mille Lacs Violent Crimes Enforcement Team (AIM VCET) executed several search warrants in Grand Rapids and La Prairie. Officials searched a LaPrairie home, a Grand Rapids home and motel, and two vehicles.

Officials seized 118 grams of meth, 32 ounces of meth water, a rifle with ammunition, and over $103,000 in cash.

Two men and a woman were taken into custody and later charged.

According to the AIM VCET report, the three individuals made their initial court appearances and are being held at the Itasca County Jail with bail/bond amounts ranging from $80,000 to $ 250,000.

Steven Donald Storrs, 69, of Grand Rapids was charged with 2 counts of Controlled substance in the First Degree, Felon in Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition, 1 count of Controlled Substance Crime in the Fifth Degree, Methamphetamine-Related Crime Involving Children, Fourth Degree DWI.

Joe Patrick Stariha, 45, from Grasston, Minn. was charged with three felonies, including Controlled Substance Crime in the First Degree, Controlled Substance Crime in the Third Degree, and Controlled Substance Crime in the Fifth Degree.

Alexia Marina Charboneau, 30, from Sandstone was charged with Controlled Substance Crime in the Third Degree, 2 counts Controlled Substance Crime in the Fifth Degree, and felony Fourth Degree DWI.

The Aitkin-Itasca-Mille Lacs Violent Crimes Enforcement Team received help from the Grand Rapids Police Department, Itasca County Sheriff’s Office, and East Central Minnesota Drug Task Force.
