Total loss of abandoned house fire in Cook, Minnesota
At around 3:40am on Monday September 30th, the St. Louis County Sheriff’s department and Cooke Fire Department received a report about a structure fire in the 200 blk of 1st Ave NW in the city of Cook.
A passerby reported seeing flames above the treetops from Hwy 53 and was able to locate the source of the fire and called 911. The house was unoccupied at the time and had not been occupied since the flooding in the early summer of 2024.
The house is considered a total loss by the Fire and Sheriff’s department. While the cause of the fire is under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of the MN State Fire Marshals Office. There were no injuries reported during incident.
