Traffic changes for Christmas City of the North Parade
The annual Christmas City of the North Parade will be held in Downtown Duluth on Friday, November 22. There will be several traffic changes that evening to accommodate the parade route.
Starting at 5:30 p.m., Superior Street will close to traffic between 8th Avenue East and 12th Avenue East. Then, at 5:45 p.m., that closure will be expanded to 8th Avenue East through 5th Avenue West.
Vehicles will also not be allowed the Fitger’s Ramp and Pickwick’s parking lots during this time. Vehicles already parked in these areas will not be able to leave until the parade ends.
At 6:15 p.m., Michigan Street will close to all traffic except for buses and local residents. Vehicles exiting Michigan Street lots and ramps during this time will be directed to exit the area by driving south to 5th Avenue West Off-Ramp.
Traffic should return to normal by 8:30 p.m.
Lawn chairs will be allowed on sidewalks to observe the parade and the skywalk system will be open for extended period to allow for parade viewing from the skywalk bridges.
