Car fire on Mesaba Ave. and W 7th Street in Duluth. (WDIO)
A car fire stalled traffic briefly on Mesaba Avenue near W 7th Street over the lunch hour. The Minnesota Department of Transportation traffic cams captured smoke billowing in the distance. Duluth Police blocked traffic going up Mesaba Avenue as Duluth Fire Fighters put out the fire.
WDIO News was in the area at 12:30 p.m. and noticed that a black SUV in the left upbound lane had suffered severe damage from the heat. Firefighters quickly put out the fire and the scene was cleared shortly after. No word on injuries.
Traffic was detoured to another route for a short time.
