Two jurors dismissed, jury selection resumes for 1986 Chisholm murder case

An update from the re-trial of Michael Allan Carbo. The 56-year-old is accused of murdering Nancy Daugherty back in 1986. He had been 17 at the time.

Daugherty was found strangled and assaulted in her Chisholm home. The case was cold for several decade, until DNA evidence helped lead authorities to Carbo.

Carbo had been convicted and sentenced to life in prison. But the Minnesota Supreme Court ruled there were errors, and sent the case back for trial.

It’s taking place in Virginia, in front of Judge Robert Friday.

Opening statements had been scheduled for Tuesday, but then two jurors ended up being dismissed.

That leaves only one alternate. So jury selection will resume Wednesday.
