Two men in serious condition after assaults in Ball Club

Itasca County officials are investigating a series of assaults that happened in Ball Club Wednesday.

The Sheriff’s Office says around 4:03am, deputies responded to a home to the report that an adult man had been “cut up.” Crews arrived to find a man inside the home who had been stabbed. Less than an hour later around 4:50am, another adult man arrived at the Deer River Hospital with a gunshot wound. Both men are in serious, but stable condition.

Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing, but say there is no threat to the public at this time. The Itasca County Sheriff’s Office says they will share more information as it becomes available.
