The Minnesota Navy League invited members of the U.S. Navy crew of the USS Minnesota (SSN-783). It’s a nuclear powered fast attack submarine, and the 10th of the Virginia-class.
The U.S. Navy crew visiting Duluth are Commander Isaac Pelt, Master Chief Bradley Herschberger, and crew members Anthony Herrington and Robert Morrell. Not only is it their first time visiting the state of Minnesota, its the 10th year anniversary since the submarine was commissioned.
“The USS Minnesota is one of the Pacific Fleet submarines,” Commander Pelt said. “Right now we’re in Pearl Harbor, in Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard, doing a major refit after having recently completed a change of home port.”
The Minnesota Navy League is excited to show the crew of the USS Minnesota around the city of Duluth. The crew is also looking forward to see the Blue Angels perform in this year’s Duluth Air Show.
