Pi Day was last week. But there were 8 whipped cream pies in play on Friday at UMD’s Labovitz School of Business and Economics.
To celebrate the success of the 2023 Week of Service, faculty and staff volunteered to get a pie put right on their faces.
And around noon, they put on garbage bags to protect their clothes, and took it right in the kisser.
This was to reward students and staff who volunteered or brought in donations for Champ’s Cupboard. The cupboard helps students out with non-perishable food.
In total, leaders say there were $1000 worth of donations and 60 hours of service.
Students and staff spent time volunteering at Second Harvest and the Damiano Center.
