UMD wrapping up interviews of chancellor finalists
The University of Minnesota-Duluth will wrap up its interviews of three finalists for the open chancellor position Friday.
The finalists are:
- Dwight Watson, former chancellor of UW-Whitewater
- Charles Nies, vice chancellor for student affairs of University of California-Merced
- Fernando Delgado, president of Lehman College in New York
The three “lead candidates” presented their visions for the future of UMD between Wednesday and Friday.
One will likely replace Chancellor Lendley Black, who retired in the summer of 2022. Dave McMillan has been serving as interim chancellor.
The university is providing updates on the search online.
The University of Minnesota system recently got a new president, Rebecca Cunningham.
