UMD’s American Indian Learning Research Center hosts Spring Feast
The University of Minnesota-Duluth’s American Indian Learning Research Center hosted their Spring Feast Wednesday afternoon. Guests were invited to enjoy traditional food and hear from speakers in the UMD Kirby Ballroom.
The celebration hosted two guest speakers. UMD alumnus Dennis Olson, the Commissioner of the Minnesota Office of Higher Education and Rachel Evangelisto, the 86th Miss Minnesota and alumna of the University of Minnesota Morris.
The feast also served as a celebration of three milestones for the university. They were the 50th anniversary of the American Indian Studies Department and the Indigenous Student Organization, the 40th anniversary of the American Indian Learning Resource Center, and the 10th anniversary of the Tribal Sovereignty Institute.
