Upcoming special elections in the Northland

Voters in parts of the Northland will cast their ballots in three special elections on Tuesday, April 8, 2025.

The Itasca County Commissioner seat for district 4 will be filled in one of the special elections. The two candidates running for the seat are Pat Medure and Larry Hopkins.

A Two Harbors city council at-large seat will have its candidates narrowed down in a special primary. The candidates in that race are Donna Heil, Laura Osbakken Goutermont, Barbara Omarzy, and Miles Monroe Woodruff.

The Rock Ridge school board will be filling a vacancy as well. Voters will decide between Brandi Lautigar and Pollyann Sorcan.

The following Tuesday, April 15, a special primary will be held to narrow down the republican field to one candidate in the race to fill the Minnesota Senate District 6 seat formerly held by Justin Eichorn.
