US 53 project to temporarily close intersection in Solon Springs

US 53/North Boundary Road in Solon Springs will be closed to traffic at 6am on Monday, May 1st. The turn lanes from north-southbound US 53 onto North Boundary Road will also be closed Monday, May 1st at 6am.

The closures will be take place for seven days, for necessary repairs on the northbound US 53 driving lane. The work is part of a resurfacing project on US 53 from County M to north of Solon Springs.

The road construction will also include milling and overlaying the county road’s shoulders and turn lanes. Also the project includes repairing/replacing culverts, and replacing the guardrail around the bridge over the railroad tracks.

The concrete approach slabs on the south side of the southbound bridge will also be repaired over the railroad tracks. There will be new pavement markings and rumble strips placed. For more information on the road construction you can look here. For other traffic stories you can look here.
