UWS hosts lecture on social media and its impacts
The University of Wisconsin- Superior hosted their first Dr. Linda Thering and Ms. Joan Hedrick lecture Thursday evening.

The guest speaker for the evening was Max Stossel. Stossel presented “Social Media and Its Impacts” to students, faculty and community members in the Yellowjacket Union Great Room. Stossel detailed specific ways that technology and social media are designed to be addictive and how that impacts the health of society. He also gave recommendations on how to address some of the challenges that individuals and society face because of this technology.
Stossel is named by Forbes as “one of the best storytellers of the year.” He is also the Youth and Education Advisor for the Center for Humane Technology, an organization of former technology workers dedicated to uniting technology with humanity.
