Vehicle fire closes I-35 southbound near Proctor

Update: According to Kerry Helquist, the Proctor Fire Chief, the Dodge Caravan was totaled by fire. The driver escaped the vehicle safely. Traffic was reduced to one lane for scene safety. No injuries to any fire fighters. Minnesota State patrol and Proctor police assisted at scene.
A vehicle fire closed the southbound side of I-35 near Proctor on Friday afternoon. It happened between Exit 250 and Exit 249.
MnDOT posted the alert at 2:37 p.m. that the road was closed. At about 3 p.m., traffic cameras showed traffic moving once again in a single-lane configuration.
No word yet on injuries. Two fire trucks responded to the scene.
