Vehicle fire spreads to home in Carlton County

A fire has destroyed a vehicle and damaged a home in Carlton County.
The sheriff’s office said a passerby called it in around 6:30am on Tuesday, and then stopped to let the homeowner know.
This was at 158 Jay Cooke Road in Thomson Township.
The fire was first observed under the hood of a vehicle in the driveway, and then spread to the residence.
Esko, Carlton, and Wrenshall departments responded. The American Red Cross is assisting the homeowners.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
