Veterans Memorial Hall ready for reopening

Come celebrate the reopening of Veterans Memorial Hall on Tuesday evening.

Veterans Memorial Hall has reopened after significant water damage put the exhibits in jeopardy back in July.

The hall had to me closed off and damage had to be repaired from water coming from the floor above. That caused months of drying, cleaning, and repairing space. Artifacts and memorabilia had to be quickly evacuated and luckily none of the them were damaged.

Tuesday, a ribbon cutting ceremony welcomed back the public into the space that had been gone for so long.

Veterans Memorial Hall was established in 1909 and is a program of the St. Louis County Historical Society.  It is the mission of Veterans Memorial Hall to preserve, collect, and share veterans’ stories and artifacts and to educate the public about the history of veterans from northeastern Minnesota.
