Walmart Wellness Day provides free health screenings

It’s still the beginning of the 2023 year, and what better way than to start off with getting your overall wellness checked. On Saturday, Jan. 14th, Walmart held their 9th annual Wellness Day, providing free health screenings at their pharmacies.

Since 2014, Walmart pharmacies have hosted Walmart Wellness Days, contributing more than 5 million free health screenings for customers. More than 4,000 Walmart stores are in medically underserved areas, which means Walmart is often the first stop for health care in these rural and underserved communities.

Customers can receive free health screenings and affordable immunizations at Walmart pharmacies nationwide. Some of the health screenings offered to customers today from 10am through 2pm included cholesterol, glucose, and blood pressure.

There were also affordable immunizations available for the flu, COVID, HPV, among others. However, there was no cost for receiving the COVID vaccine. There were also opportunities to talk with pharmacists at Walmart about maintaining overall health and wellness.
