Warrior Brewing hosts fundraiser for Lake Superior Warriors
Warrior Brewing hosted a fundraising event on Saturday to support the Laker Superior Warriors, a local disabled military hockey team. Guests were able to enjoy a catered food, drinks, live music and a variety of different silent auctions and raffles. Attendees were able to bid on items ranging from team jerseys to gift baskets from local shops. A dinner was also held at the event for community members to meet and hear stories from some local heroes.
“We try to raise funds for them so that it offsets the costs of their members to participate in the sport, to take place in the rehabilitation of their program and to travel abroad”, said Matt Caple, owner of Warrior Brewing. “The two of us, we are just a match made for each other.”
The Lake Superior Warriors were founded in the Twin Ports back in 2019. Their mission is to help disabled military veterans reintegrate into civilian life by building a sense of community, camaraderie, and self-confidence. They use hockey to build camaraderie and provide therapy for their members.
