Where to shop local for Duluth’s Small Business Saturday

Now that Thanksgiving has come and gone, it’s time to begin checking off items on Christmas lists.

Melissa Latour from Downtown Duluth encourages all to shop local this holiday season.

“Get your e-commerce shopping list away and come out and support everything local. We have 30 businesses participating in our Small Business Saturday. And there are additional small businesses on top of that. A lot of them have entered our holiday window contest. Hucklebeary would be a great example of that. And we just tell people to come out and support small,” said Latour.

The day will see many shops finding ways to collaborate, sharing together in their joy and success.

“A lot of them are partnering up. So, you might shop at a Hucklebeary and then stop at Zeitgeist for a beverage. Or there are places in Canal Park and then you have all your food kind of surrounding as well,” said Latour.

And businesses downtown aren’t the only ones setting up shop, with more small businesses sharing their crafts at Warrior Brewing’s second Winter Market of the year.

“We’re shooting for mid to high 30s for vendors and then we’ve also partnered with Team Nutrition next door. They have a couple vendors as well. So, it should be a big variety of kind of local gifts and crafts that people will be here selling,” said Ben Anderson, owner of Warrior Brewing.

With so many businesses highlighted across Duluth, there is surely something to find for everyone.
