On Sunday in historic downtown Duluth at the Norway Hall Event Center, guests were invited to immerse themselves in a wedding event unlike any other.

Wild Rose Company hosted the Northland’s very first mock wedding, an event that put its 13 vendors at the forefront of the conversation.

“We thought, you know, instead of doing like a vendor show, why don’t we bring couples in that want to see what it feels like,” said Amber Brostrom, co-managing partner of Wild Rose Company.

The staged wedding’s vendors decorated the Norway Hall Event Center like they would a traditional wedding, showcasing their skills for potential couples to experience firsthand.

“As humans it’s hard for us to be real visual and you want to use all of your five senses so your touch, your feel, your taste. And to be able to sit down with your significant other and kind of have a time to yourself is really helpful to help them make sure that they made the right decision because it’s a very important day in their life,” said Brostrom.

The event gave its guests a chance to envision themselves as if they were the ones walking down the aisle on their special day, along with providing clear visuals for couples looking to tie the knot.

“It takes the pressure off of the couple. So, they know, you know, if I’m going to be sitting here, this is what my guests will see. You know, this is how my guests will feel. So, it’s like they’re the guests. So, they’re putting their guest shoes, I guess you could say. And so, they’re able to think, you know, full circle,” said Brostrom.

Wild Rose at Norway Hall, Mid Coast Catering, Engwall Flowers, Up North Beauty, ShelDon Duluth, Ihana Salon, Arthur’s Formal Wear, Decor Lab Duluth, Champagne & Blue Jeans, Capture Chaos Weddings, Bella Rose Bridal, Snazzy Cakes, and Sounds Unlimited Entertainment all participated in the mock wedding.
