Wilderness at Fortune Bay Manager charged with felony theft by swindle, placed on unpaid leave
Joseph Wisocki IV, the Wilderness at Fortune Bay Manager, has been placed on unpaid administrative leave after being charged with five counts of felony theft by swindle in Minnesota state court.
The Bois Forte Tribal Council voted 4-0 to place Wisocki on unpaid administrative leave on Monday.
Brian Anderson with Fortune Bay said this arose from Wisocki’s time as the Director of Golf at the Wilmar Community Golf Club.
According to a criminal complaint filed in Kandiyohi County District Court on December 14, 2023, Wisocki allegedly stole nearly $28,000 from the Willmar Community Golf Club.
Wisocki was hired to manage the Wilderness at Fortune Bay this past spring.
He will make his first appearance in court at a remote hearing on Wednesday, January 17, 2024.
