The Wisconsin Department of Transportation Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is extending its customer service center hours on Monday, March 31 and Tuesday, April 1 until 6:00 pm to assist people in getting their photo IDs. The DMV is extending these hours to allow Wisconsinites more time to get their IDs in order to vote in Wisconsin’s Spring Election on April 1.
“There are documentation requirements, such as a birth certificate, proof of identity and Wisconsin residency, to obtain an official Wisconsin ID card,” explained a DMV representative. “The voter should bring any documentation available to the DMV and fill out two forms.”
The DMV’s website offers a locator to find a person’s neared DMV and to check wait times.
Wisconsin has had a photo ID requirement for voting since 2015.
