Wisconsin’s Super 2nd Chance Drawing to end in December
On Monday, the Wisconsin Lottery announced it will be discontinuing the weekly Super 2nd Chance Drawing. Lottery officials say the Super 2nd Chance Drawing is a weekly drawing that requires non-winning Wisconsin Lottery tickets and scratch-offs to be sent in for entry in the drawing.
“Weekly mail-in drawings are outdated and a very labor-intensive process,” Wisconsin Lottery Director Cindy Polzin said in a media release. “Unfortunately, this drawing has become inconvenient for many of our players, especially with the increasing cost of postage.”
The Lottery has no plans to replace the Super 2nd Chance Drawing with another drawing.
Lottery officials say each entry would need to contain at least $5 worth of non-winning Wisconsin Lottery scratch and/or lotto tickets that had not expired. The tickets were then mailed to a special drawing address that is listed on the back of Wisconsin Lottery lotto and scratch tickets. Each week, ten $1,000 winners names were drawn.
The Super 2nd Chance Drawing will continue as normal through December 26.
The Lottery says a there will be a comprehensive communications plan sent out across the state to ensure that players, retailers, and others will be aware of the final drawing date.
