WolfTrack Classic sled dog race called off
One of the last sled dog races still standing in the Northland has been called off. The WolfTrack Classic, a 50- or 30-mile race that starts and finishes in Ely, was canceled Thursday morning.
It had been scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 25.
It joins the John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon and the Gunflint Mail Run in hoping for better conditions in 2025.
The WolfTrack team still plans to host a few events, which they say they’ll announce on Monday.
The Northern Pines Sled Dog Race in Iron River, Wis., is still on as of Feb. 1. It’s planned for Feb. 17.
