Victim identified in Friday’s murder; Man charged
On Monday, March 25, Duluth Police identified the victim in Friday’s incident. Authorities say 27-year-old Allisa Marie Vollan of Duluth was found deceased at a home on the 30 block of E 5th Street. A Go Fund Me page has been set up by Alissa’s family and friends.
Police say 25-year-old Dale Howard of Duluth has been charged with 2nd Degree Murder without intent while committing a felony and 2nd Degree murder while under restraining order for protection.
Original Story: A 25-year-old Duluth man is in custody following a report of a dead body. According to Duluth Police, officers responded to the 30 block of E 5th Street at approximately 8 a.m. Friday where they found the body of a 27-year-old woman.
The man is in the St. Louis County Jail on pending charges of Murder in the 2nd Degree and Violation of a Domestic Abuse No Contact Order (DANCO.) WDIO does not name a suspect until the charges have been filed.
Authorities say the suspect and the victim were known to each other. The man had an active DANCO and the report says he had previously been arrested for Domestic Assault.
The woman was transported to the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy. Her name will not be released until family is notified.
This remains an active and ongoing investigation.
