Woodland Avenue closure extended in Duluth
The Woodland Avenue closure for thru traffic between St. Paul Ave. and Northfield Street is being extended through August 10th. The closure began July 9 and was originally supposed to end by the end of July.
Steve Krasaway, Resident Engineer with St. Louis County, cited higher than normal rainfall as the reason for the delay.
“The next phase of the project involves milling and paving this stretch of road, and it was determined that attempting to do this with lane closures and flagging operations would have led to significant delays and potential safety hazards,” explained Krasaway. “Extending the road closure will help ensure the safety of both the public and construction workers and will decrease the overall construction time on Woodland Avenue.”
Traffic should continued to follow the detour route of Snively Road, Martin Road, and Woodland Avenue. DTA buses will still be able to use Woodland Ave. During the closure.
