UPDATE: According to Carlton County Sheriff’s Office, the cause of the fire appears to be from a wood stove. No suspicious activity was detected.

The Red Cross was notified to assist the homeowner. Minnesota Power also assisted with the fire.

ORIGINAL: Crews responded to a trailer home fire in Wrenshall township at the 2500 block of County Road 102 at 5:55 pm Thursday, March 20th.

According to the Wrenshall Fire Chief, crews were called to the structure fire, and on their way, they were then alerted that the fire had started to spread to the surrounding grassy area.

The structure was a complete loss, but crews on the scene were able to contain the blaze.

A dog was in the structure at the time of the fire and was found deceased by crews.

Wrenshall, Carlton, Esko, and Blackhoof fire departments responded.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
