Young Athletes Foundation Saturday Morning at the Races Kicks Off
The Young Athletes Foundation (YAF), a Grandma’s Marathon program, will kick off the first of three, Saturday Morning at the Races event this weekend at the College of Saint Scholastica’s Burns Wellness Commons. Children 14 and under are able to participate at no charge after they complete a short registration form, either online prior to the race or at the door on race day starting at 9 a.m.
Races are spilt up into six groups by participant’s age with a distances ranging from 1/8 of a mile to ½ mile. The youngest age bracket, consisting of those four years of age and below, will be the first on the track with their race starting at 10 a.m.
Each participant will receive a free t-shirt and snacks. Additionally, there will be photo opportunities with the school mascot. The events are wheelchair and adaptive participant accessible just see a YAF race official upon arrival.
The 2023 Saturday Morning at the Races Schedule is as follows:
- Saturday, January 7 the race will be held at the College of Saint Scholastica located in the Burns Wellness Commons (1200 Kenwood Avenue, Duluth, MN 55811.)
- Saturday, January 22 the race will be held at the University of Minnesota Duluth located in the Ward Wells Fieldhouse (1228 University Dr, Duluth, MN 55812.)
- Saturday, February 4 the race will be held at the University of Wisconsin-Superior located in the Marcovich Center (1810 Catlin Ave, Superior, WI 54880)
