YWCA Duluth milestone fundraiser
Since 1893, the YWCA of Duluth has been helping our community. Now they are asking for our help.
On Thursday evening, May 30th, a celebration for 130 years of service to our area will be held at Clyde Ironworks.
It’s called Mission Soir’ee to fundraise for the important programs and services the YWCA provides.
Asin Biiwash-Smith and Beth Burt were recent guests on Good Morning Northland, sharing about the important get together.
“We have great programs at the YWCA in Duluth,” Beth Burt said. “We have a transitional housing program for young moms, so moms who are coming in off the street or homeless from the ages of 16 to 20, we provide transitional housing support for them to give support to their babies. We support for them in parenting and they leave our transitional housing to go into permanent housing and finish theiir GEDs and high school diplomas and get jobs. We help get them started on theiir way.”
Thursday night’s event will also put alot of fun into the fundraising. There will be food, drinks, a silent auction, a dessert auction, a 50/50 raffle and more.
The event is from 5:30 to 8:00 at the Clyde Ironworks event center.
