Duluth East theatre set to preform ‘Hadestown: Teen Edition’
Duluth East High School is opening their production of Hadestown: Teen Edition This Thursday through Sunday.
The high school theatre department is one of the few across the country that were able to get the rights to perform the show, as it’s very new and still on Broadway.
Sofia Salmela and Brayden Miller play two of the leads in the show. Sofia says even though this is a teen edition, there were barely any cuts made so it feels like they’ve been doing the full version of the show.
She points out the choreography as something that the teen cast has been working really hard at. “It’s like a beast of a show, it’s like a full Broadway show,” she says.
For Brayden, he says this is his second show at Duluth East and it was a giant undertaking. He says, “To get to do [the shows] as it’s still getting to be popular has been really awesome.”
The show is on October 24th through the 26th at &;00pm and Sunday the 27th at 1:00pm. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students, and can be purchased at the door with check or cash.
