Gordy’s Hi-Hat opens for its 65th season

The Cloquet restaurant Gordy’s Hi-Hat reopened for their 65th season Thursday morning, March 20th.

Gordy’s was originally started by Duluthians Gordy and Marilyn Lundquist back in 1960 and they say their classic American food has remained since then.

Carried on by Sever Lundquist, Gordy and Marilyn’s grandson, the crew works to provide the same taste that started it all. “What we aim to do every year is just keep things the same, keep our products the same,” he said. “Everything with the consistency so that when our customers come back, sometimes we have customers like, “Hey, we haven’t been here in 25 years, and it tastes exactly the same.” So that’s our goal every year is just to maintain that level of consistency and do things the same way that Gordie and Marilyn did.”

Fans of the restaurant were already lined up on opening day to get their burgers, malts, and onion rings.

Gordy’s Hi-Hat is located at 415 Sunnyside Drive, Cloquet, MN.
