Governor Walz receive Minnesota’s Thanksgiving Turkey

Governor Tim Walz will be presented with Minnesota’s official Thanksgiving turkey.
He will be joined by the Minnesota Turkey Growers Association.
The annual event aims to show the importance of Minnesota agriculture and battling food insecurity during the holidays. Minnesota is the nation’s top turkey producers, according to the state Department of Agriculture. 40 million turkeys are raised in the state annually, which is nearly the number that are consumed every Thanksgiving.
Set to attend are Governor Walz; Minnesota Department of Agriculture Commissioner Thom Petersen; Jes Westbrock, Minnesota Turkey Growers Association President; Butch Brey, Minnesota Turkey Growers Association Vice President of Research and Promotion Council; Colleen Moriarty, Executive Director of Hunger Solutions Minnesota.
