Steve Sokela is a Minnesota-raised performer playing in a comic opera show up in Virginia, MN from September 11-15.

Grab your powered wigs and get on down to the opera! Local musician Steve Solkela is hosting “Comic Opera” from September 11th-15th. It’s called La Serva Padrona and is a modern English version of the 1700’s opera.

The best part is, whether you live in the Twin Ports or the Iron Range you can catch the show. In Virginia on the 11th and 12th hosted at The Lyric Center you can enjoy 70 minutes of La Serva Padrona starting at 7 p.m. The Douglas County Historical Society in Superior is hosting the rest of the shows on the 13th, 14th and 15th. Those will all start at 2 p.m.

Going back to the past with a comedy opera

Coming from the past, Steve Solkela came to the Good Morning Northland studio to crack jokes, juggle, and talk about his upcoming show "La Serva Padrona." You can catch the performance live in Virginia and Superior!

Joining Solkela is Jessica Moss who will sing Soprano and Branden Taus who is playing mute.
