Lawmakers discuss Minnesota State Flag update

Minnesota may be getting an updated state flag, as efforts are underway in the legislature to give the famous blue flag a new look.

This is not the first time the idea of a new flag has been brought up for the state. Some say that these changes come from the design of the flag being too busy, with the details of the photos meshing together and looking like there is just too much going on.

Others say that the flag is divisive, saying that the pioneer plowing the field with a rifle nearby and a Native American riding a horse into the sunset are raising questions. The first hearing of this legislature is scheduled for today.
