Purple Rain hits the Broadway streets

According to an announcement from Broadway producer Orin Wolf, Prince’s 1984 film, “Purple Rain” is officially being developed into a Broadway musical. The movie is about an ambitious musician and it won an academy award for best original song.
The stage adaptation will feature music and lyrics from Prince’s “Purple Rain” movie and album.
Orin Wolf made the announcement on Monday. He didn’t give any other details about where and when the initial production will come out.
