Raising of the Roses annual event is April 20 & 22
Do you like walking through the Duluth Rose Garden? The City of Duluth Parks and Recreation staff along with the Lake Superior Rose Society will be holding their annual Raising of the Roses on Saturday, April 20 from 9 a.m. to noon and again on Monday, April 22 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The public is welcome to help.
No experience necesssary. There will be expert rose raisers on hand to teach volunteers about the Minnesota Tip Method, a process organizers say protects tender roses from the harsh conditions of a typical Duluth winter. Once winter is over, the roses are then raised in the spring to grow and bloom for the season.
Organizers say Tose Raising is an all ages, no experience needed event. Groups, families, and individuals are invited to participate. If you are interested, meet at the Rose Garden, between 12th and 13th Avenues East on London Road anytime during active event hours.
Remember to be prepared for kinds of weather. All tools and supplies will be provided, including work glove
