In today's Tech Bytes from ABC: Amazon is launching a discount store with products shipping directly from China, the Xbox app is coming to Amazon Fire devices, Uber giving people $1,000 if they ditch their car for five weeks.

Amazon is launching what’s being called a new discount store. The planned store is expected to allow low-cost products to be shipped to American customers directly from China, letting you bypass Amazon fulfillment centers here in the US. It’s an attempt to compete with popular Chinese retailers online such as Temu and Shein

The Xbox app is coming to Amazon Fire devices next month. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will be able to stream several popular games. It will be available in more than 25 countries, including the US.

Uber is paying people to give up their cars. 175 Participants will receive $1,000 for alternate transportation, if they ditch their car for five weeks. The challenge promotes using fewer cars and alternative options like uber, bikeshare, and public transit.
