Tech Bytes: Freevee shutting down

Amazon plans to shut down streaming service Freevee, assimilating it into free content for non-Prime users. Google allows for searching using images and words simultaneously on Chrome for iPhone devices. Fortnite OG comes back permanently.

Amazon is shutting down its Freevee streaming platform. The free, ad-supported service offered original shows and over 100 Prime Video titles. Amazon says Freevee content will move to Prime Video, with a free tier still available for non-Prime users.

Google is rolling out a new feature for Chrome on the iPhone. Users can now search on Chrome using pictures and words at the same time. It’s part of a new Google Lens update that lets users narrow their search. The update also adds quick saves to Google Photos and Drive, plus shopping deal alerts.

Fortnite OG is making a permanent comeback this December. The throwback mode, first introduced last November, will join the game’s regular rotation. That means iconic elements like Tilted Towers and the Baller are back for good.
