Tech Bytes: Apple Airtag update prevents stalking

Tiktok’s Chinese parent company acknowledges that its employees were tracking a small number of American users, including several reporters.
Bytedance says data was inappropriately accessed to identify an employee who was leaking information about the company. It says the workers involved have been fired.
Apple says it’s updated its Airtag technology to prevent stalking. In the past, criminals have used the devices to keep tabs on potential victims. A firmware change now lets you know if an unknown Airtag or an Airtag that’s no longer with its owner has been placed on you.
