Tech Bytes: Apple Intelligence features to roll out soon

Bloomberg reports that Apple's latest AI features could be rolling out this month, with upgrades including new transcription and photo editing tools. FCC approves Starlink coverage to those affected by Hurricane Helene, specifically T-Mobile users. Google is about to release new theft detection features that will automatically lock the phone when detecting a suspicious movement.

Apple’s new AI features could be coming soon. According to Bloomberg, Apple will roll out the first wave later this month, including new writing and transcription tools. Users can also expect photo editing features, with more updates next year.

The FCC has given SpaceX approval to provide its “Starlink Satellite Systems” to areas affected by Hurricane Helene in North Carolina. The satellites allow texting for T-Mobile users. SpaceX and T-Mobile’s first direct-to-cell satellites launched in January, but there has been opposition from other wireless companies.

Google is rolling out new theft protection features for Android users. Theft Detection Lock uses AI to lock the screen when it detects suspicious movement. There’s also ‘Offline Device Lock’ and ‘Remote Lock’, which let users secure a phone with just a phone number.
