In Today's Tech Bytes from ABC: Apple is going to end its buy now, pay later service, YouTube is adding a new feature called Notes, TikTok is introducing new AI avatar ads.
Apple pulls the plug on its ‘buy now, pay later’ service. As of yesterday, Apple stoped issuing loans through Apple Pay Later. Current users can still manage loans through the wallet app. Apple is shifting focus to new installment loan features, coming later this year.
Youtube is testing a new feature called notes. Viewers can add context to videos, clarifying if content is a parody or misrepresented. Initial contributors are limited, with notes evaluated for helpfulness to reduce misinformation.
Finally TikTok is introducing AI avatar ads. The new tools will let brands create ads Using AI-generated avatars that look like real people. TikTok says the new tool will enhance creativity, without replacing human influencers. The ads will be labeled to avoid confusion.
