Tech Bytes: Doordash AI answering service

Amazon is raising the minimum purchase you need to make to get free shipping. Some customers who don’t have “Prime” memberships will now have to spend at least $35 to qualify. That’s up from the $25 minimum in place since 2017.

New from Doordash, an AI answering service. The company will use the technology to take phone orders for restaurants. AI would handle basic takeout and delivery calls. Humans would be available as support.
They’d also have more time to handle in-person customers.

Apple’s most expensive iPhone was also the most shipped in the first half of the year, according to a new report. Analysts say that reflects a consumer shift, toward higher-end devices and away from low-range phones. Apple took the top four places in that report.
