Apple offers higher than usual trade in credit for iPhones, Slack user data is training machines, and some washing machines have a glitch.

Apple is reportedly offering higher than usual trade in credit for your old iPhones but only if you’re using it to buy the brand new iPhone 15. According to Bloomberg, the boost for trade-in value will start today and run for the next two weeks.

Business messaging app Slack is using data from user’s chats, to train its machine learning models. The only way to opt out, is to have the slack administrator for your organization contact the company, and ask it to stop.

Two college students appear to have found a security bug that solves a pricey problem. They’ve reportedly discovered a glitch that allows internet-connected washing machines to be used for free. According to Tech Crunch, the bug in CSC Service Works machines still exists and the company has yet to comment.
