Tech Bytes: Google close to closing big deal

In today's Tech Bytes from ABC: Google is reportedly close to closing one of it's biggest deals ever, AT&T reportedly paid hackers bitcoin over its data breach, and Amazon's Prime Day starts on Tuesday.

Google sets its sights on a huge deal. The tech giant is in talks to buy “Wiz”, a cybersecurity start-up, for $23-Billion. The move would bolster the company’s cloud-computing efforts. If successful, it would be Google’s largest acquisition ever.

Next – AT&T reportedly paid a hacker $370,000 in Bitcoin to delete stolen customer data.
Wired and Bloomberg report the hacker provided a video as proof of deletion. The deal was apparently negotiated through an intermediary.

Finally Amazon’s prime day starts Tuesday with massive sales on electronics, clothing, and more.
Walmart, Target, and other retailers are also offering big discounts. Experts warn shoppers to be careful of misleading deals and impulse buys.
