In today’s Tech Bytes, three Democratic senators are calling on President Trump to seek authority from Congress to extend the April 5th deadline for the sale of TikTok’s U.S. operations. The president has said he will probably extend the deadline unilaterally for a second time.
Facebook and Instagram owner Meta is considering paid subscriptions in the UK. This move would remove advertisements from the platforms, and paid users would also be able to prevent their data from being tracked. There is no indication that ad-free subscriptions will roll out in the U.S.
Finally, looks aren’t everything on Zoom meetings—how you sound also makes a big difference. A new study shows that high-quality audio in online meetings can make you seem more convincing. And if your microphone isn’t up to par, you may appear less appealing.
