Sarah Silverman, along with two authors are suing Meta and OpenAI, which owns ChatGPT. They’re accusing the companies of copyright infringement, saying they used books without consent to train chatbots. No comment from meta or open AI.
Google Calendar has a new feature. Users can now set *where* they’re working during specific portions of a day. The feature will allow co-workers to determine whether they’ll be able to meet face-to-face. It’s an enhancement of the “working locations” feature added in 2021.
Finally, a judge in Canada has ruled that a thumbs-up emoji is binding when it comes to accepting a contract. A farmer was ordered to pay more than $60k. He said he used an emoji in a text only to acknowledge he got the message, but the judge said the emoji was enough to signify that he accepted the sale.
